We are a community of people of all ages and backgrounds joined together by our purpose of following Jesus.
Dove River Church is linked to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and a member of the Evangelical Alliance.
The Baptist way of being the church is living together in community; in a family where everybody is equal because everybody has a part to play in the service of God. Equality by status, however, does not mean that all have the same role. Every local Baptist church appoints its own leaders to have particular responsibilities.
We believe that the Bible is the infallible inspired word of God written to guide us in all matters of faith and conduct.
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God’s son Jesus Christ died on the cross in our place paying the price for sin, defeating evil and so reconciling us with God. Jesus was resurrected bodily and ascended to heaven and will one day return.
We believe that God has sent his Holy Spirit to speak, guide, comfort, heal and powerfully reveal himself in our midst. It is by God’s power, and not our own, that we can live like Christ and experience His presence among us.
